Well it looks like i’m kind of failing at my mission. All these puff pastry appys, cheese plates and treats are just so tempting. At least I am running everyday during the week (or at least that’s the excuse I use to have one more). Oh well. I’ll keep trying.
As of Friday my daughter is off school until the New year. I’m trying to line up some things to do but I figure most places will be a gong show since everyone’s kids are off. Here are a few ideas that will probably be not as busy as the malls or playcenters:
-ice skating-our city has a beautiful outdoor rink that we are going to check out or it is just as fun to go to the community centre
-sledding or tubing-always fun and a great way to wear out the kids fast
-light displays-drive or walk around in the evening and check out all the light displays in your area
-have some friends over and their parents
-host a cookie swap
I know a cookie swap seems kind of retro but it’s a fun way to try new recipes. If you are the host just invite some friends over and have each person bake enough cookies to share at the party and offer others to take home. Make sure to ask everyone in advance what they are bringing so there are no duplicates. It’ll take the pressure off if you have some extra cookies around for guests, dinners or parties. An even better idea is to bake for a cause and have participants bring extra to be sold at work, school or church. It’ll also stop us from eating too many cookies. Lol! Some worthwhile charities to support include Cookies for Kids’ Cancer and Meals on Wheels. I’m sure nursing homes would appreciate a little treat as well and the company. I remember visiting my grandma and all the people just loved the visit.
In case you are wondering I will be online over the holidays helping anyone out who has any questions or problems with the site so you can keep enjoying bingo throughout the holidays. Happy Holidays all!
